About the Journal
Advances in Inclusive Education Research (AIER) is an independent, peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal founded to promote and disseminate high-quality research in the field of inclusive education. AIER is committed to bridging the gap between research and practice, supporting educators, researchers, and policymakers worldwide.
Our Mission
AIER provides a rigorous platform for innovative research in inclusive education across all educational contexts and disciplines. Launched in January 2027, AIER is a peer-reviewed, open-access, UK-based journal committed to making high-quality research freely available to all, without financial barriers. We believe that knowledge should be shared openly, and that inclusive education research should itself be inclusive and accessible to all.
Why AIER Was Founded?
Most education journals are US-based and difficult for UK researchers to access. Many charge prohibitively high article processing charges, and very few address inclusive pedagogy across disciplines — particularly STEM and engineering education.
AIER was founded to fill that gap. As an accessible, UK-based, open-access platform, AIER makes high-quality research freely available to researchers, practitioners, teachers, and policymakers worldwide — without financial barriers.
We believe that knowledge should be shared openly, and that inclusive education research should itself be inclusive and accessible to all.
